A case of Congenital rubella syndrome



Abstract
Rubella is usually a mild, often subclinical disease involving school-age children and young adults. Te rubella virus, which is capable of crossing the placenta, may infect the fetus, causing fetal death or congenital malformations. Congenital
rubella
syndrome is very rare due to rubella vaccination. The clinical manifestations of congenital rubella syndrome are quite variable consisting of IUGR. deafness, cataract, cerebral palsy, congenital heart disease etc, because rubella virus affects
all
fetal
organ system.
